A 20-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly attacked by a rape man and his accomplices in Alwar on Friday night, in which she suffered serious eye injuries. The victim has been referred to Jaipur where she is undergoing treatment. However, the main accused is still absconding. An FIR regarding rape was registered at Naugaonwa police station on November 10 following the order of the court.
The victim’s mother said that her daughter was to be married on November 27. Another relative said the victim was admitted to a local hospital in Alwar but due to the increased risk of loss of vision, doctors referred her to an ophthalmologist in Jaipur for treatment.
loss of vision
According to the Times of India report, a relative of the victim told that “the doctor told us that a major surgery is needed or else she may lose her eyesight.” He said that the accused also allegedly made a video of sexual harassment which he later shared with others.
On Friday, when the victim was sleeping, the accused had attacked the victim sometime before midnight. The accused and his accomplices attacked the victim with a knife, injuring her neck and eye.
SP Tejaswani Gautam said that a second FIR has been registered against the accused in connection with the deadly attack on the woman.
Case registered after court order
The police claimed that the girl was allegedly raped last year and an FIR for this was registered at the police station following a court order on November 10. The accused was identified as Hariom Soni, a resident of Haryana. He reportedly met the girl on the bus last year when she was returning home with her mother.
The victim’s mother also alleged that the accused had threatened to harm her son. Alwar police said on Saturday that doctors are monitoring the girl. A police officer said that a team was formed to arrest the accused.
rape of dalit women
It is to be known that in Barmer district, a policeman had carried out the incident of rape with a Dalit woman. The incident happened on the night of October 11 this year. The policeman entered the woman’s house and committed the crime of raping her and had threatened to kill her if she told anyone. The accused was identified as Shravan Singh who was arrested and booked under SC-ST and other sections including rape. It may be noted that this is not the first time that such an allegation has been made against the Rajasthan Police. Even before this many policemen have been accused of rape. In Alwar, there was an incident of raping a victim in the government quarters built in the police station premises.
Let us inform that on August 12 this year, a case of rape of a Dalit minor came to light in Barmer district. In Juna village of Sadar police station, the minor goat had gone for grazing. During this, a person named Bhopal Singh had raped her. The rape victim had made serious allegations against the investigating woman DSP and said that I was being pressurized to settle the matter by taking two lakh rupees.
On January 19 this year, a case of gang-rape with a Dalit woman came to light in Nagaur district. After raping the woman, the miscreants put a bottle in her genitals. The woman had gone for some work in a nearby field. Then three poor men gang-raped her. After the incident, when the family members reached the police station to file a report with the woman, the station in-charge started procrastinating. Later the report was filed after the intervention of senior officials.
