Kejriwal’s former minister rides on Mayawati’s ‘elephant’, will increase AAP’s troubles, will contest Lok Sabha elections from New Delhi
Rajkumar Anand, who was a minister in the Kejriwal government, is going to contest elections from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat on BSP ticket. Rajkumar Anand, who was a minister in Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government, joined Mayawati’s party BSP on Sunday. During this, he announced that he will contest the Lok Sabha elections from New Delhi seat.
Rajkumar Anand had resigned from Delhi Cabinet and AAP last month, accusing Aam Aadmi Party of discriminating against Dalits. After joining BSP, he said in a press conference, “I pay tribute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar. I feel like I am back at my party.” He said that he will file his nomination from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat on Monday. Monday itself is the last day to file nominations for the sixth phase of elections to be held on May 25. Let us tell you that Bansuri Swaraj (BJP) is contesting on BJP ticket from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat and Somnath Bharti (Somnath Bharti AAP) is contesting from Aam Aadmi Party. Both have enrolled.
Rajkumar Anand was the Social Welfare Minister in the Kejriwal government. Rajkumar Anand held many departments including the Social Welfare Ministry in the Aam Aadmi Party government. He had resigned from Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Cabinet saying that there is no Dalit among the top leaders of the party. He had also alleged that no respect is given to Dalit MLAs, ministers and councilors in the Aam Aadmi Party.
