Farmers Protest: Upon being halted by the police in Noida while traveling from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, the farmers proceeded towards the Chilla border. Let us inform you that these farmers were stopped a while back today in Noida, close to the Mahamaya Flyover, near Dalit Prerna Sthal. This area is crowded with farmers, which is causing a severe traffic bottleneck.

Section 144 Imposed In Noida
Section 144 prohibits all processions, including religious and political, and gatherings of more than five persons prior to farmers’ demonstration. The public has been alerted by traffic police to the possibility of detours via alternative routes in Dadri, Tilapata, Surajpur, Sirsa, Rampur-Fatehpur, and Greater Noida.
In an interview with the media, Shivhari Meena, the ACP (Law and Order) of Gautam Buddha Nagar, stated that Noida and Greater Noida had adopted Section 144. All borders have been sealed for a full day at the same time. A police presence has been established to avert any undesirable event. He claimed that he speaks with the farmers on a regular basis. All trains heading towards Noida are inspected concurrently.
Why Are Farmers Protesting?
Let us inform you that since December 2023, farmer organizations have been staging protests in which they are requesting land plots and higher compensation for lands that the Noida and Greater Noida Development Authority has acquired. On February 7, agricultural organizations convened ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ to intensify their demands’ pressure on the state and local authorities. What Are Farmers Saying About Authorities?
Farmers complain that the authorities don’t seem to be taking their issues seriously.
