Gaurav, a Dalit who tried to commit suicide in police custody in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, is breathing on a ventilator. He is undergoing treatment at Medical College Aligarh. Since his condition is critical, he has been put on ventilator. However, partial improvement in his condition was reported on Saturday. But he has not been removed from the ventilator.
Let it be known that Gaurav was harassed by the Amanpur police station. He was kept in custody in the police station for several days. Due to this he was going through stress. On Friday morning, he hanged himself from the muffler in the women’s toilet of the police station. The policemen saw him in time and brought him down. Due to this his condition has become serious.
Referral to Aligarh Medical College
He was first taken to Amanpur hospital. Seeing his critical condition here, he was referred to the district hospital. When there was no improvement, he was sent to Aligarh Medical College in Advanced Life Support Ambulance. The police made a special green corridor and took him to Aligarh.
The family arrived after receiving the news.
After receiving the news, family members also reached there. It was told that he was unconscious after the incident. But, on Saturday he blinked. The police and family felt relieved by this. SP Aparna Rajat Kaushik said that the youth is undergoing treatment in the medical college. Doctors have said his condition is improving. The young man’s treatment continues.
