Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had to step down from the post of Chief Minister in the case related to 4.55 acres of Army land and he has been arrested. After Soren, the name of Champai Soren has emerged as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand. In such a situation, many people want to know about Champai Soren. Simple height, loose shirt-pants and slippers on his feet are the identity of Champai Soren. 67-year-old Champai is the MLA from Seraikela seat in Jharkhand Assembly. Champai Soren started his political journey in the year 1991. Then he won the by-election of Seraikela seat by contesting as an independent candidate and reached the assembly for the first time. From then till now, except for the elections of 2000, the people of Seraikela have elected him as their leader every time. From 2005 till now, he has been MLA from this seat for six consecutive terms.

Whenever Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government was formed in the state, he was included in the cabinet. At present he was looking after the work of Transport and Food and Supplies Department. Matriculate Champai Soren fought with Shibu Soren in making Jharkhand a separate state from Bihar and since then he has been his confidant. Like his father, Hemant Soren also trusts Champai Soren. And after not being able to agree on the name of his wife Kalpana Soren, Hemant Soren expressed confidence in Champai Soren.
