Vibhuti Patel Beat Dalit: A case of beating of a Dalit youth has come to light in Morbi district of Gujarat. Vibhuti Patel of tile manufacturing company Raniba Industries has been accused of beating the youth. The Dalit youth has lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. The youth alleges that when he went to Raniba Industries to collect his remaining salary, the company employees put a shoe in his mouth and beat him with a belt. Morbi police has registered a case on the complaint of the youth.
The victim lodged a complaint
According to the complaint lodged at Morbi A Division police station, the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Nilesh Kishorebhai Dalsania. Nilesh Dalsania, his elder brother Mehul and neighbor Bhavesh Makwana had gone to the office of Raniba Industries Private Limited, a private company run by Vibhuti Patel, at around 7 pm on Thursday, 23 November. In his complaint to the police, the Dalit youth told that he was working in the export department of Raniba Industries till October.
After this, due to some reason he refused to come to work. After this he demanded his salary for the 16 days he worked in the company. When his salary did not come after a month, he called the company for his salary. Where he was asked to come to the office and take him. After this he reached the company with his brother and a neighbor. Where he was brutally beaten and a shoe was put in his mouth.
Threats to kill
According to the FIR, Om Patel, who claimed to be Vibhuti’s brother, beat up Nilesh. It said that Vibhuti’s office manager Parikshit Patel, Vibhuti and four other people also assaulted the Dalit youth. They allegedly dragged him into the lift, beat him with a belt, and also kicked and punched him.
Nilesh told the police that Vibhuti Patel forced me to put his slippers in my mouth and asked me to apologize, besides he warned that I would be killed if I dared to lodge a complaint.
In this regard, Morbi Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratipal Singh Jala said that after being beaten in the company, Nilesh went to GMERS hospital for treatment. He said that he was beaten badly. A complaint has been registered in this matter and further action has been started.
