Transgender ‘cheated’ by male friend after undergoing sex change

Vijayawada: A young transgender man from Vijayawada was allegedly cheated by his male friend, who had promised to marry him if he underwent a sex change operation. However, his friend refused to marry him following the sex change surgery, following which he lodged a complaint with Krishna Lanka police.

Police said A Pawan and E Nageswara Rao became friends while studying BEd and started living together after completing their degree course in 2019. They initially worked as teachers in a local school and later started their own tuition point in the city.

After facing criticism from neighbours and their families for their relationship, Pawan decided to undergo gender change operation and spent 12 lakh on the surgery in Delhi. He also changed his name to Bramaramba after the surgery. Nageswara Rao, who initially promised to marry Bramaramba, later changed his mind and started avoiding him.
