Kundapur: Dalit girl studying in SSLC ends life at home in Padukone
Kundapur, In a heart-wrenching incident, a 16-year-old Dalit girl, Sindhu, studying in the SSLC program and residing at a hostel, has taken her own life at her residence in Padukone.
Sindhu was the daughter of Prashant and Sunanda, a couple employed as civic workers in the Kundapur municipality. The unfortunate incident has left the community in shock.
Currently enrolled in an SSLC course at a nearby government school, Sindhu was also a resident of the girls’ hostel in Vaderahobali. Suffering from an illness, she had returned home a couple of days ago for recovery.
Tragically, despite her father’s assurance that he would accompany her to school on Thursday, Sindhu chose to end her life by hanging herself for reasons yet unknown.
The Gangolli police station has registered a case and commenced an investigation into the circumstances leading up to this devastating incident. The community is left mourning the loss of a promising young life, prompting a collective call for greater awareness about mental health and timely interventions to prevent such heartbreaking events.
