It was told that the son of Naval Kishore Dubey and Champa Devi, residents of Manika village located in Patan police station area of Palamu district, had a love marriage with a Dalit girl. They wanted to bring their son and daughter-in-law home, but were not able to do so due to social pressure. Family members told that their daughter-in-law is about to become a mother. They wanted to take care of him, but due to caste-social pressure and taunts, they became so upset that both of them consumed poison together on Monday.

As soon as this information was received, both of them were admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for treatment, where both of them died during treatment. After Panchnama and post-mortem, the police handed over the bodies of both of them to their families.
