Recently, the administration took action and sealed a private orphanage in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. During the raid, many deficiencies were found in the orphanage. Many serious allegations were also made against the private orphanage located in Vijaynagar, Indore. It is alleged that there were 21 girls in the orphanage, who were subjected to various types of atrocities. It is alleged that minor girls were branded with iron tongs, the orphanage is also accused of making the girls smell smoke mixed with red chilli. Now Madhya Pradesh Police has started investigation in this matter.
An FIR has also been lodged against the orphanage located in Vijaynagar, Indore. Madhya Pradesh Police has now started investigation into this matter. Talking about this, the officials of the Child Welfare Committee said that they had received information about this matter a few days ago. After receiving the information, the orphanage was raided. During the raid, 21 girls were rescued and sent to another place. Officials said that a case has been registered against four people including the manager in this matter.
According to Hindustan Times report, the caretakers of the orphanage children used to give stale food and rotten fruits to the girls. Talking about this, a victim said that if they refused to eat stale food and rotten fruits, the caretaker would force feed them and also beat them. Giving information about this case, a girl said that here they are hung upside down from the railing on the first floor and as punishment they are forced to smell smoke mixed with red chilli.
Talking on this matter, Child Protection Officer of Women and Child Development Department, Bhagwan Das Sahu said that we have also found that there was no restriction on the movement of outsiders in the orphanage. There are allegations that there are many photographs of men in the orphanage. Talking about this, the girls said that a male companion of the caretaker had spent at least a few days in the orphanage a few weeks ago. All this is against the existing norms. There has been no allegation of sexual harassment but we are undergoing counseling and medical examination.
