CHANDIGARH: Upset over police inaction into the case of murder of her young son, a Dalit woman from Ellenabad on Tuesday threatened to end her life along with her son’s wife and children.
Tar Kaur, who was accompanied by her daughter and daughter-in-law, said that they would wait for 10 days and would take the extreme step outside the house of Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar.
Tar Kaur said that she has been carrying proofs against culprits who murdered her son at the behest of upper caste landlords.
The incident dates back to October 2021 when the youth was found murdered in a small room of a farmhouse where he used worked for the landlord in a village in Ellenabad sub-division of Sirsa district.
She alleged that in a bid to hush up the matter, the landlord cooked up a story that her son was bludgeoned to death by two laborers.
“All this was fake story. Believing his statement, the police had even arrested one accused. But, the landlord is still moving free. He has now started threatening us and has attacked my younger son as well. Which has forced use to take this step,” the woman alleged.
