Police have filed a case against four accused in connection with the assault on a Dalit laborer on Friday in Bheusan, also known as Bankatan, village in the Sikriganj police station area. This action was taken based on the victim’s complaint.

The victim, Rampreet, filed a named complaint at the Sikriganj police station on Thursday, April 30th. He stated that he was working as a laborer at the village’s Rai Bahadur Singh Master’s house when Ramsajivan Singh (also known as Guddu Singh, also known as Harendra Singh), Manish Singh, and Durgesh Singh suddenly arrived at his door.

According to Rampreet, the accused surrounded him due to an old rivalry and began beating him with sticks. They hurled casteist slurs and threatened to kill him. Rampreet was seriously injured in the assault and his belongings were damaged. The victim stated that people present at the scene rescued him.

Following a preliminary investigation and medical examination of the victim, the police took action on the instructions of Sikriganj Police Station Officer Anjul Kumar Chaturvedi.

The Police Station Officer stated that a case has been registered based on the complaint. Khajani Circle Officer Deepanshi Rathore will investigate this case, registered under the SC-ST Act.
