UP: Dalit girl gang-raped inside public toilet; cops refuse FIR and drive victim out of police station
Etah: There seems to be no safe place for women in India today and the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh seems to have collapsed in the face of emboldening criminals. In a fresh incident, a Dalit girl was gang raped by three men in a public toilet in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
After the crime, the victim and her family have been running from pillar to post to get justice. The victim also visited senior officials during Tehsil Diwas meant to redress the grievances of people, but to no avail.
According to a report in News18 Hindi online, the victim has accused the former village head and two other men for gang-raping her. The ghastly incident took place when the girl took a child to the toilet to get him relieved.
The accused then dragged the girl inside the toilet and committed the crime.
Police refuse FIR
According to the family, when the victim and her mother visited the local Aliganj police station they were not heard and forced out of the police station.
The victim has identified three accused-former village head Rajiv, Anil and Akash. The victim alleged that the three men took turns to rape her in the toilet.
After the police refused to file a case, the victim reached Aliganj to meet officials on ‘Mangal Diwas’ for redressal of their complaint but they had to return disappointed as no one heard them.
The incident comes in the backdrop of a 19-year-old girl ending her life after she was allegedly gang raped by miscreants at a village under the limits of Anupshahr police station in Bulandshahr district. She also left a suicide note holding three men responsible.
