UP: 28-year-old man ‘loots transgender wife, forcibly converts her’
PILIBHIT: A 22-year-old transgender, Gulabo of Old Police Lines in Kannauj filed a written complaint at Bisalpur Kotwali police station on Friday evening alleging that her 28-year-old husband, Kalim Mirza – whom she met on Facebook – allegedly married her and fled her house at Kannauj on the same night with cash worth Rs 2 lakh along with gold and silver ornaments.
They got married in court on May 10. In her complaint, she has also alleged that the man “compelled her to adopt Islam”. Gulabo said that she is now getting death threats from the man.
He allegedly introduced himself to her as a Brahmin man. Only after their wedding, did she come to know about his actual identity through the marriage certificate. Then she was taken to Kanpur forcibly where she was compelled to adopt Islam, she alleged. “He took me to Kanpur where he dissolved some pills in a glass of wine and forced me to drink it, while pointing a pistol at my head. After that I lost my senses,” she alleged.
When she returned to consciousness, she found that Mirza had fled the house along with Rs 2 lakh cash and ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh. She had earlier also given him Rs 5 lakh to buy a new car.
SHO of Bisalpur Kotwali police station, Naresh Tyagi, said “As the entire incident occurred in Kannauj, we will either register a zero FIR for its transfer to the concerned police station in Kannauj or will transfer the written complaint in original to Kannauj’s police authorities for further probing.
