Officials said the incident took place on Saturday evening in a village under Kotwali police station area of Muzaffarnagar district. A video of this has surfaced on social media. According to the complaint given by the victim to the police, she had gone to a field to cut grass, where seven men sexually assaulted her and made a video of her after she was forced to take off her clothes at gunpoint.
Kotwali police station in-charge Anand Dev Mishra said that a case has been registered under sections 354B and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), section 3 of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. According to Mishra, seven people were arrested in the case on Sunday. Police have identified the accused as Anuj, Kuldeep, Ankit, Ravi, Rizwan, Chhota and Abdul.
