Transgenders demand quota in police jobs

HYDERABAD: A few members of the Transgender community demanded that the state police include a category for their community in the job notification for the recruitment of sub-inspectors and constables. They submitted a representation at the office of the director general of police on Wednesday.

“We want the government to create a separate category for transgender on lines of male and female in the police recruitment application form,” Vyjayanti Vasanta Mogli, Telangana Hijra Transgender Samithi, told media after handing over the representation.
