‘Transgender pressurised partner to kill pregnant wife’

Sundargarh: A transgender person arrested on Saturday for allegedly conspiring in the murder of a pregnant woman in Sundargarh district was reportedly in a decade-long relationship with the deceased’s husband and pressured him to eliminate his wife, police sources revealed on Sunday.
Debashish Bagartti (34), a private school teacher, allegedly had relationship with Deben Kumar Behera (35), even after his marriage to Shamyamayee, who was murdered on Dec 12.
On Dec 13, police arrested Behera, a panchayat executive officer in Gurundia block, and his brother-in-law, Satya Narayan Behera (48), an assistant sub-inspector with Rourkela police, for the murder. All three accused, including Bagartti, have been remanded in judicial custody.
