Tell caste of all Gods so that I can choose mine: Akhilesh Yadav
LUCKNOW: Taking a dig at chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his statement at an election rally in Rajasthan where he claimed that Lord Hanuman was a Dalit, former CM and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said he should also tell the caste of remaining Gods and Goddesses to help him could find one of his own caste and seek his blessings.
Addressing an election rally at Malakheda in Alwar (Rural) assembly constituency on November 27, Yogi had said that Hanuman was a deprived forest dweller and a Dalit. The comment drew strong reactions from opposition leaders, believers as well as seers. The BJP candidate from Alwar Rural ended up losing the election by more than 26,000 votes.
Asked to comment whether Yogi’s statement in Alwar went against BJP, while talking to media about elections results on Wednesday, Akhilesh said, “Caste of only some Gods has been revealed. It will be good if he talks about the caste of all the Gods …. Then I will also pray to the God of my caste and seek his blessings.”
Responding to a media query on the use of the EVMs in the assembly elections, Akhilesh said his party will always bat for use of paper ballot in all future polls. On bagging one seat, he said that his party ensured a direct fight between BJP and likeminded party.
