In a big boost to Telangana BJP, Dalit group Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) declared its support for the saffron party on Sunday.
MRPS group Founder and President Manda Krishna Madiga, in a circular to the affiliate groups declared support for the BJP.
Caution against voting for Congress, BRS:
“We must not forget the injustice done by Congress in the case of SC reservation classifications. The Congress party ruled this country and united Andhra Pradesh for a long time and we faced injustices under their rule and this has been proven by various committees and commission reports,” the circular stated.
“The Congress party ignored our requests for SC sub-group classification and they never came forward to do justices for Madigas. Even when they were in opposition in Parliament over the last decade, they never raised this issue.”
Addressing BRS, the group president noted that the BRS betrayed their community and tried to defeat the cause of their community. “There were no opportunities given to Madigas in the cabinet even for symbolic reasons,” the note read.
PM’s promise to form a panel for SC-sub groups:
Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi recently attended a campaign rally organized by the MRPS in Hyderabad and Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the group and discussed state election.
At the rally on November 12, the PM promised to constitute a committee for the classification of SC-sub groups. He also assured Madiga community members that the BJP will try to correct the injustices done by other political parties and leaders.
