A serious incident is being reported from Bhatasan village of Patan district in Gujarat state. Some people have pelted stones at the procession of a Dalit youth of the village, after which the police have arrested 6 people while identifying the stone pelters. Actually, the family had anticipated the incident in advance. Due to which police protection was sought and stones were pelted on the procession only during the presence of police on the spot. It is being told that about 4 people have been injured in stone pelting. According to the information received, this stone pelting happened due to non-compliance of the orders of the Gram Panchayat.
After the incident, the police took action after taking 6 people into custody, along with police security has been deployed in the village and the matter is being monitored to not allow further progress. Giving information in the matter, the Superintendent of Police of Patan district said that the procession of Vijay, son of Ramji Parmar, a native of Bhatasan village, came out of the house under police protection for a nearby village, when stones were pelted on the procession at a distance, in which 4 people have been injured. Let us tell you that Ramji Parmar lives in Ahmedabad and had come to his native Bhatasan only for the marriage of his son.
The alleged reason for stone pelting is being told on the basis of information received about the incident that about a decade ago, Bhatasan Gram Panchayat had banned the wedding ceremony and procession with pomp, after which Ramji Parmar married his son. These orders were not complied with. Ramji Parmar was already apprehensive of something untoward, due to which Ramji Parmar was provided police protection by the SP of Patan district for the procession after demanding police protection. However, despite the arrangements, the incident has been carried out by the chaotic elements.
