Udaipur- There is a rift between two tribal MPs in southern Rajasthan. The bitterness between Bharat Adivasi Party’s Baswada MP Rajkumar Roat and Udaipur BJP MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat is increasing. This time the reason for the rift is a viral audio clip in which a BJP leader is heard talking to one of his supporters about burning the houses of tribal people supporting Baap and beating them with sticks.
Baap MP Rajkumar Roat alleges that one of the voices heard in the audio is of Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat who, being a tribal himself, is talking about destroying the houses of people of his own community and this thinking is more dangerous than any terrorist. MP Rajkumar Roat met the police officials after a symbolic sit-in protest in Udaipur on Monday and demanded an investigation into the audio clip and warned that if action is not taken in 10 days, the tribals will come out on the streets of Baswara and Udaipur.
On Tuesday, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat met the media regarding this issue, where he did not directly accept that the voice in the audio was his, but did not deny it either. In response to Rajkumar Roat’s allegations, Rawat said that Bharat Adivasi Party is getting 1000 bigha of forests cleared in Pratapgarh’s Dhariyavad area by calling outsiders and is illegally occupying it. On complaining about this, the collector raided the spot with the forest and police team and took action and sent its report to the state government. Rawat said – Rajkumar Roat is talking nonsense in panic after this reality and truth has been exposed.
While answering media’s questions, Rawat accused his father and MP Rawat of misleading the tribal society, spreading separatism, threatening and terrorizing the locals with the help of outsiders. When MP Rawat was asked that the voice in the viral audio is being claimed to be his, instead of directly denying it, the MP said that if hundreds of acres of forest around Sitamata Sanctuary have been cleared, then the anger among the villagers is natural – the forest near my house has been cleared, the identity of the tribe is to protect the environment and trees, in such a situation, if outsiders destroy their houses and forests, show hooliganism and beat them with a sling and drive them away, then will they not express their anger? Will they not retaliate? On 10 September, Baap supporters sat on a dharna outside Udaipur Collectorate
MP Mannalal Rawat said that Rajkumar Roat reacted wrongly to the Supreme Court’s August 1 decision regarding reservation for Bhils, which also gave a wrong understanding to the society. Rawat said, “Roat does not want constitutional rights for Bhils. Catholic Church of Ranchi is demanding a separate religion code for tribals, they are pushing the agenda of the church”. Rawat further said that Roat says IPC does not apply to tribals but on the other hand he goes to sit on a dharna outside the police station to get a case registered. He says that tribals are not Hindus and those who wear Sindoor Mangalsutra insult mothers and sisters. Rawat said in clear words that Baap had spread a web of confusion but after the truth came out, he is lying in panic. Raising questions on Bharat Adivasi Party, Rawat said – earlier it was BTP, then it became BAP and in future it will become BTC. Sometimes they boycott the presidential election, sometimes they join hands with Congress for Rajya Sabha. They do not talk about development but work to spread separation.
Rawat directly accused BAP and Rajkumar Roat of increasing unemployment in tribal areas and linking youth with violent activities. Rawat said – they do not follow IPC but got cases registered against 7.5 thousand youth of the society by spreading disturbance in Kakri Dungri. They talk about giving employment to 5th and 8th pass youth but will they give employment to stone pelters? Rawat said that due to Roat and his party, all the wealth creators in Dungarpur migrated, about 350 units which used to provide employment to local people, all left and unemployment increased in the area.
