Dalit groom’s wedding procession under police protection: In Jhunjhunu, the Bindori of a Dalit groom was taken out under police protection. During this, police force of four police stations was deployed. Recently, some youths of the upper caste community had threatened the groom and his family. This case is of Rampura Gram Panchayat of Mehara Police Station area. There was a protest before the Bindori of the Dalit groom in Govindaspura village of the Panchayat. On receiving information about this, the police also restricted the threatening youths.
Team sent due to fear of protest
However, a team was also sent due to fear of protest. Police personnel were present with this procession which came from many areas. During this time, more than 60 personnel of QRT team including four police stations were deployed.
Groom’s family complained to SP
According to the information, the procession of the groom of Meghwal community of Govinddaspura village left on Saturday evening. Before the procession left, Bindori was taken out in the village by making the groom sit on a mare. Three days ago, some youths of the upper caste of the village had threatened the groom and his family not to take out Bindori by sitting on a mare. After this threat, the groom’s family complained to the SP. Then two days ago, the police went to the village for persuasion. People had protested.
Many people were restricted
During that time, the police had restricted more than one and a half dozen people. Despite this, in view of the possible protest, QRT team from the police line along with personnel from Mehara, Khetri, Khetri Nagar and Babai police station was deployed for Bindori. After the Bindori procession, the wedding procession left for Shobhapur in Narnaul.
