Panel summons Muktsar DSP in Dalit assault cases
Muktsar, Taking note of complaints lodged by two Dalit women, Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission’s senior vice-president Deepak Kumar and member Raj Kumar Hans today visited Muktsar town to hear their complainants.
After hearing out a victim from Nanak Colony on Maur Road here, the commission directed Muktsar DSP Harvinder Cheema to personally submit a report on September 16. The complainant had accused the police of failing to act against the culprits who had thrashed her and passed casteist remarks. In the second complaint, a woman alleged she along with her two children was detained by a landlord. The commission took serious note of the absence of the complainant and directed the SHO concerned to ask for the reason.
