Odisha police book Rahul Gandhi for anti-national statements

JHARSUGUDA: Odisha police have booked Congress ex-chief Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making anti-national statements during the inauguration of Congress’ new headquarters in Delhi on January 15.
Members of Jharsuguda Citizen Forum, including primary complainant Ram Hari Pujhari, along with members of BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal, and BJP’s legal cell, lodged an FIR on Friday night against Rahul under BNS Sections 152 (endangering sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) and 197(1)(d) (making false statement, jeopardising the sovereignty, integrity or security of India)
“Rahul Gandhi consistently targets BJP and links RSS with terrorist organisations without evidence. We demand strict action against himto prevent him from making such unnecessary statements for political gains,” said Pujhari.
Local Congress functionary Amita Biswal defended Rahul, saying, “He merely said that BJP is controlled by a single organisation. This issue is being unnecessarily politicized. In a democracy, everyone has the right to express their opinion”
