Muzaffarnagar: The case of attack on a wedding procession in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh has now taken a serious turn. On Monday, the procession was attacked in a village in Khatauli area of ????Muzaffarnagar district. It is alleged that an upper caste group targeted the groom and his baraatis. 25-year-old Dalit groom Amrit Kumar and other baraatis were attacked with rods and sticks. The groom and the people in the procession allege that they were abused with casteist slurs and Amrit Kumar was humiliated by being taken down from the horse.

Chaos started in the name of stopping the song
The groom Amrit Kumar has given full information about the attack on the baraat. According to Amrit Kumar, his family and other guests were dancing to the music on the DJ during the wedding. Suddenly some people came and asked the wedding organizers to stop the music. When the baraatis refused the demand of these people, they were attacked. Amrit Kumar’s brother Ajay Kumar and other baraatis have suffered serious injuries and a complaint of this incident has been lodged with the police.
DSP gave information
Khatauli DSP Ramashish Yadav said that this incident happened in Madhkarimpur village when the baraat was passing through the village. Some people objected to the song being played on the DJ, after which a heated argument and scuffle started between the two sides. Three people have been injured in this incident. Khatauli SHO Umesh Kumar said that on the basis of the complaint of the groom’s family, a case has been registered against eight named and ten unknown people under sections 190 (incitement with intent to cause riot) and 191 (2) (guilty of inciting riot) of the Indian Penal Code and SC / ST Act. Investigation of the case is going on.

The SHO said raids were conducted at several places to arrest the accused. Complainant Ravindra Kumar said that some upper caste men got angry and questioned, “Who gave you the right to sit on a horse?” They also used casteist slurs. When the baraatis protested against their behaviour, some of them attacked. As women and children were also involved in the incident, the baraat members are in complete shock and are scared.
