Minor boy rapes four-year-old girl in Sambhal, detained
BAREILLY: A 14-year-old boy allegedly raped a four-year-old neighbour in a village under Behjoi police station jurisdiction of Sambhal district on Sunday evening.
The accused took the girl to his home on the pretext of showing her TV show, and raped her, said police.
Hearing her scream, girl’s kin reached the spot and found her bleeding, but the accused had managed to flee.
On Tuesday, the girl’s father lodged an FIR against the boy, following which police detained him.
Police said the accused belongs to the Other Backward Castes (OBCs) category, while the girl, who is still under observation at a hospital, is from the SC community.
Police said the boy was alone at home, while his parents had gone to fields when the incident occurred.
Amit Kumar, station house officer of Behjoi police station, said, “Seeing the girl playing outside her house, the accused took her to his home on the pretext her showing her TV show, and then raped her.”
“When the girl started crying out of pain, her family members reached the spot, but before they could understand the reason of her screaming, the accused had fled,” said SHO.
The girl’s parents rushed her to a private hospital, where she had been under observation at ICU for the past two days. On Tuesday, when the girl’s condition improved, her father approached police and lodged an FIR.
SHO said, “The accused has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC, and various sections of the POCSO Act and the SC/ST Act. We have detained the accused and produced him before the juvenile justice board.”
