Migrant transgender woman charged with raping a 14-year old in New York bathroom

An illegal immigrant transgender from Colombia was charged for allegedly stalking and assaulting a boy in Manhattan.
According to a report by the New York Post, Nicol Suarez purportedly followed the 14-year-old into the bathroom of a bodega in East Harlem on Tuesday and attacked him.
According to police sources, the boy subsequently left the bathroom and signalled witnesses, who notified police. Suarez was apprehended the following day and charged with first-degree rape.
Suarez was also sought by the US immigration and customs enforcement in New Jersey and Massachusetts at the time. The agencies also had detainer on her, New York Post reported citing sources.
The nature of the out-of-state charges wasn’t readily available.
An ICE detainer is a formal request to law enforcement agencies to detain an individual so they can be taken into federal custody.
“It just goes to show that Donald Trump and [border czar] Tom Homan are correct that you need to get the violent people out of New York City and Eric Adams, Letitia James and Kathy Hochul should all cooperate because this person has an ICE detainer,” the source told New York Post.
“ICE could just apprehend this person and deport them back. But due to our sanctuary laws we can’t do anything,” it added.
Prosecutors initially requested $500,000 bail and $1.5 million bond for Suarez, the law enforcement source said.
Suarez was being held on Rikers Island, online records showed Saturday.
A nearby deli proprietor, not the establishment in which the attack occurred, said children come from the park to his deli daily for sweets and snacks. He was visibly distressed when he heard what happened.
“Oh my God, that is repulsive,” said Azid Haime, 59, owner of 2234 East Side Deli.
“He destroyed that little boy’s life!” he said. “All my body is trembling, I want to sit. I can’t explain how I feel. I’m more than enraged.”
