Let CBI probe ‘Capital irregularities’: Kanna
‘Dalits’ land near Thullur acquired at throwaway price’
State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Thursday dared Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to face a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the land pooling scheme of Capital Amaravati.
Fielding the 18th set of questions against Mr. Naidu, Mr. Lakshminarayana said the construction of the Capital had been mired in controversy. Firstly, the TDP government tried to mislead people by publicising the likely regions selected for the Capital and then bought the land belonging to Dalits near Thullur at throwaway price.
Later, it changed the architects Maki Associates prompting them to lodge a complaint with the World Architecture Council. The TDP government selected Foster and Partners as the architects and included Genesis Planners as local architects, who were allegedly promised Rs. 90 crore as commission.
Mr. Lakshminarayana also questioned the State government’s stand on giving compensation to the victims of the AgriGold. Even the High Court had to intervene and express displeasure over the delay in paying compensation.
The former Minister also questioned the ham-handed approach in dealing with the complaints over harassment of women.
He also alleged large-scale corruption in giving relief to the displaced families of the Polavaram project and accused the TDP leaders of pocketing Rs. 650 crore.
