Kannauj News: Bloody clash over installation of Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue, eight Dalits injured

Kannauj News: The victims allege that hundreds of people of a particular caste came to the spot and opposed the installation of the statue by threatening them. Not only this, people of the Dalit community were chased and beaten in the village.
Kannauj News: A bloody clash took place in Kannauj district over the installation of Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue. Accusing people of a particular caste, the injured victims said that the attackers were armed with sticks. Those people were chased and beaten. Not only this, constant pressure is also being exerted to move out of the village. The police, who reached the spot, admitted the injured to the Medical College Tirwa for treatment.
People of some other castes including Dalits, Verma also live in the above mentioned village Bhoolbhuliapur, located on the Indergarh road of Tirwa Kotwali. Last night, people of the Dalit community were preparing to install Ambedkar’s statue here. The families of the Dalit community told during treatment in the medical college that when they were preparing to install the statue, hundreds of people of a particular caste in the village came to the spot and threatened and opposed the installation of the statue. Not only this, the people of the Dalit community were chased and beaten in the village.
According to the injured, the above attackers were constantly threatening us to leave the village and go somewhere else. There are about two dozen Dalit people living in the village, giving this information, the injured told that when the police was informed about the conflict and dispute in the village, the Kotwali police reached the spot after some time.
After which the injured have been admitted to the medical college for treatment. An injured woman has also been referred to a higher hospital.
The victims alleged that due to the protection of the local ruling party MLA, the attackers of a particular caste living in the village are constantly harassing us. They are constantly threatening by making their photos viral with weapons. The police is also not taking any action against these attackers. Regarding the incident, Tirwa Kotwali police says that the entire matter is being investigated. After which action will be taken against the culprits.
