Kadegaon gears up for Rahul visit
Kolhapur: Ahead of the election season in the state, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday will visit Kadegaon in Sangli district to unveil the statue of the party’s ex-MLA Patangrao Kadam, who passed away in 2018. This will be Rahul’s first visit to the state after his appointment as the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha.
Rahul will be accompanied by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, and other leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the rally organised by Congress MLA Vishwajeet Kadam.
German hanger-type tents have been erected in the 20-acre area with a seating capacity of 1.5 lakh and a large number of Congress workers from Satara and Kolhapur are expected to attend the event. Invitations for the rally have been sent out to every household in Palus-Kadegaon. tnn
