If Rahul does not win the Maharashtra elections, will it prove to be a big setback in his 20-year career?
Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024: Rahul Gandhi had recently raised the issue of constitution and caste census in his public meetings during the Maharashtra assembly election campaign. On the basis of this issue, the condition of BJP in Maharashtra became bad during the Lok Sabha elections. Like Haryana, if BJP wins a big victory in this big state too, then questions can be raised on Rahul Gandhi’s politics.

New Delhi: The 288-member Maharashtra assembly elections will prove to be a big test for many people. One of them is Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi recently raised the issue of constitution and caste census in his public meetings during the election campaign of Maharashtra. This was the same issue due to which BJP’s condition worsened in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections. This time also Rahul Gandhi has played the same game in Maharashtra. Rahul Gandhi had raised the same issue in Jharkhand as well. Let us know whether this issue can give Rahul an edge in elections again and again or it will prove to be a big setback in his 20-year career. Let us understand whether question marks will be raised on Rahul’s politics with the election results coming out?
What did Rahul say during the election campaign
Rahul Gandhi said in the election rally in Maharashtra, the Constitution talks about equality, one person-one vote, respect for all and for every religion, caste, state and language. The Constitution has the voice of Savitribai Phule and Mahatma Gandhi. But BJP and the Sangh are attacking the Constitution. Their attack is an attack on the voice of the country.
Rahul also raised the issue of caste census
Rahul also talked about caste census in his public meetings. In a public meeting, he said that if caste census is done, it will be known what kind of injustice is being done to Dalits, OBCs and Adivasis. Everyone will know how much power they have and what their role is. He also said that we will also break the wall of 50 percent reservation limit.
What is the mathematics of castes in Maharashtra
Send feedback
The population of Dalits in Maharashtra is about 12%. OBCs are about 38%, tribals are 9% and Marathas are about 28%. Rahul Gandhi is trying to woo these sections by talking about the constitution and reservation. Its effect was also seen in the Lok Sabha elections, when Dalits and OBCs were divided in Maharashtra and a large part went to the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Due to this, they got a big victory.
Why does Rahul challenge the Sangh in Nagpur
A few years ago, during the Bihar elections, Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat made a statement on reservation, after which BJP suffered a lot. In the election rally of Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi said, the Sangh will attack the Constitution secretly. It does not dare to attack directly from the front, because they know that if they attack from the front, they will lose in 5 minutes. This attack of Rahul is like a challenge to the Sangh in many ways. What happened during the Lok Sabha elections
In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, the All India Alliance was able to win 30 seats out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Congress won the maximum number of 13 seats. BJP came down from 22 to 8. Rahul had made a strategy to try this mantra of his victory once again in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Rahul started with Nagpur rally
Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge participated in the Maha Vikas Aghadi program in Mumbai after the Samvidhan Samman Sammelan in Nagpur. The Nagpur rally is a strategy to balance the political equation of Vidarbha, where Dalit and OBC voters are in large numbers. Congress got more seats from Vidarbha belt and Marathwada region in Maharashtra in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. That is why Congress is focusing on these areas in the assembly elections as well and is trying to balance the caste equations. When Rahul Gandhi announced his entry into politics in 2004
In March 2004, Gandhi announced his entry into politics. He said that he would contest the 14th general election for the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, from his father’s former constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Till then his mother Sonia Gandhi used to contest from this seat. After this, Sonia started contesting from Rae Bareli, a constituency adjacent to Amethi. At that time when Rahul made this announcement, people were quite surprised about it, because political experts considered Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi to be more charismatic and a potential successor. In such a situation, if Congress is not able to win the Maharashtra elections, then questions may be raised on Rahul’s leadership and strategy.
How BJP turned the tables in Haryana
The results of the Haryana assembly elections proved most election analysts wrong. After being in power for ten years, BJP formed the government for the third consecutive time. BJP won 48 out of the total 90 assembly seats in the state. It was being said for the ruling BJP, which lost 5 out of 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, that these elections would not be easy. Before the results, from social media to TV channels, the issues of farmers, soldiers and wrestlers were being blamed for the defeat of BJP.
These factors were responsible for BJP’s victory in Haryana
In the year 2014, BJP formed the government in Haryana for the first time. The party made Manohar Lal, who comes from the non-Jat i.e. Punjabi Khatri community, the Chief Minister’s chair. With this, the party started mobilizing the non-Jat community in the state. BJP also fought the 2019 assembly elections on his face. In the 2024 assembly elections too, the party chose Nayab Saini, who comes from the OBC community. A narrative was created about the Jats in the elections that if the Congress government came, Bhupendra Singh Hooda would be the Chief Minister. Against this, BJP tried to unite the non-Jat community and in this effort, a large part of the Dalit vote bank along with the OBC also went to the party’s account.
