A shocking case has come to light in Telangana. Here a Dalit woman has made serious allegations of harassment against the policemen. The woman alleges that she was not only beaten up in the police station, but she was also forced to take off her saree and wear shorts.
The case is from Shadnagar in Telangana. The woman has made these allegations against the policemen posted at Shadnagar police station. The officials have ordered an inquiry on the woman’s allegations and have line-attached the inspector of Shadnagar police station.
In fact, the woman was called to the police station on charges of stealing gold. The woman alleges that she was beaten up in the presence of her minor son. The woman claimed that her husband was first beaten up and then released. The woman claimed that she was then forced to remove her saree and wear shorts and the policemen tied her hands and legs before assaulting her.
Police’s response
Reacting to the allegations, a statement issued by the police quoted Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty as saying that the inspector of Shadnagar police station has been line attached pending investigation into the allegations. Not only this, an investigation has been started by taking up the matter. The statement said that the Assistant Commissioner of Police of Shadnagar is investigating the matter and further action will be taken based on the investigation report.
