Focus on backward and Dalits

Rahul Gandhi is bringing backward and Dalit leaders to the forefront in the Congress organization. For the first time since he started singing the song of caste census and increasing reservation, he is making such big changes in the Congress organization.
Officially it is being said that Mallikarjun Kharge is making the changes but all the decisions are being taken by Rahul Gandhi. According to his agenda, he has started appointing leaders of backward and Dalit castes to important positions in the organization.
This is also important because when he talks about backward and Dalit interests, he is asked how many Dalits and backward are there in the Congress organization. So, he has appointed two new general secretaries, one of whom is Bhupesh Baghel from backward caste and the other Syed Nasir Hussain is a Muslim. Rahul has also given the message of managing backward and Dalit politics by making BK Hariprasad, Ajay Singh Lallu, K Raju etc. in-charge of big states among the All India Congress Committee in-charge general secretaries.
Earlier, Congress appointed a new state president in Maharashtra. When Rahul removed backward caste Nana Patole, Harshvardhan Sapkal, who belongs to the Kunbi community, was made the president in his place. Similarly, in Odisha, Bhakta Charan Das, who comes from the Dalit community, was made the state president in place of Sharat Patnaik. It is being told that there is talk of appointing a new state president in Karnataka in place of DK Shivakumar. The name of Dalit leader G Parameshwara is in discussion for the post of president.
In Telangana too, the names of Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha and Mahesh Gowda are being discussed. In Bihar, a new state president is to be appointed in place of Akhilesh Prasad Singh, and the names of two Dalit leaders Pratima Das and Rajesh Ram are being discussed the most. In Uttar Pradesh too, Congress can appoint a backward caste leader as president in place of Ajay Rai. The party already has a Dalit president in Haryana.
