Dalit woman’s allegations of gang-rape in moving car false, claim Pilibhit police
Pilibhit: The district police have claimed that the allegations made by a Dalit woman that she was gang-raped in a moving car have been found to be false after a probe.
Dinesh Kumar Prabhu, Pilibhit Superintendent of Police, said the facts came after a probe conducted by Circle Officer (City) Sunil Dutt, who was assisted by SHO of Sunngarhi police station.
The woman had alleged gang-rape by three men in a moving car on the pretext of offering her a job. The 34-year-old woman is a resident of a village under Gajraula police station, according to a report in Times of India.
The FIR was in the case was filed after nine days from the reported incident on August 31. In her police complaint, the woman stated that she was looking for a job when one of the accused told her that he can help her with a bank job as the manager was his friend.
The woman further alleged that she was called to meet the manager and asked to sit in the car and was taken to an isolated place where she was given sedatives and gang-raped in a moving car.
However, police, after analysing call recording and electronic surveillance, claimed that one of the prime accused in the case was in Bareilly at the time of alleged crime.
According to SP, the investigation officer could not even trace the presence of the victim at the crime spot. Police said the complainant also declined her medical examination. Meanwhile, former Samajwadi Party minister Hemraj Verma has questioned hurried police probe in the case.
