Pune: A magisterial court in the city on Monday deferred till Oct 4 the hearing of a defamation case filed by Satyaki Savarkar, the grandnephew of late freedom fighter Vinayak Savarkar, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making defamatory statements against the late freedom fighter during his visit to the United Kingdom on March 5, 2023.
Judicial magistrate first class Akshi Jain had passed an order on May 30, directing summons to be issued to Gandhi to secure his presence before the court on Aug 19. But the summons could not be executed for reasons not known.
