Conference to preserve harmony on Dec 5: Mahadevappa
Hassan: Social welfare minister HC Mahadevappa on Friday said that the KPCC and the Federation of Organisations of the Oppressed Communities are organising a conference to strengthen leadership, on December 5.
Mahadevappa was speaking to reporters after inspecting the stage in Hassan. The conference is being planned as per the wish of the Federation of Oppressed Communities, with chief minister Siddaramaiah to uphold self-respect. Siddaramaiah participated in such events for the last four decades. These events aim to fight communalism and preserve harmony, he said.
“We discussed the conference with All India Congress Committee leaders Rahul Gandhi and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar. All our leaders agreed to the programme,” he said. Five lakh people from six districts—Hassan, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, and Chikkamagaluru—are expected to attend, with more people likely to come from other districts,” he said.
Minister for animal husbandry and sericulture K Venkatesh noted that they held many programmes in Mysuru, and suggested organising it in Hassan and Mandya. The event will definitely strengthen the party, he said, and added that the event is not against anyone.
