Chhattisgarh child’s ‘bad touch’ lesson reveals daily rape horror
RAIPUR: Parents of a six-year-old girl in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker were listening to her explain ‘good-touch-bad-touch’ to her toddler sister on Tuesday when they realized to their horror that she was describing daily rapes on her by a school clerk.
The family rushed to police, who arrested the clerk on Tuesday and charged him under Pocso Act. It turns out that the clerk had been raping her for over a month but she realized it only after the school held a ‘touch’ awareness session, which she then tried to pass on to her sister at home.
Pakhanjur police said that the Class 1 student was demonstrating what she had learnt to her sister, saying ‘this is bad… the uncle at school does it to me’. Horrified, her parents wanted to know more.
The girl narrated spine-chilling accounts of how a clerk in the school had raped her repeatedly in his office. The parents immediately contacted the school administration and inquired if there was a clerk by that name. When it was confirmed, they informed the principal and police.
The clerk admitted to the crime. Recently, the school shifted to a new building but parents were told that they can drop their kids at the old address, and a school bus would take them to the new location. The clerk told police that he took advantage of the waiting time for students to lure the little child into his office with chocolates. He said he raped her almost every day. Police have arrested under Pocso Act, IPC and SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
