Private hospitals in Pebbair “settling” deaths due to alleged medical negligence Wanaparthy: Recent incidents of deaths resulting from alleged medical complications and negligence at private hospitals in Pebbair have caused public alarm. Allegations are surfacing that settlements regarding the deaths are being negotiated over the bodies in the presence of intermediaries to prevent the matter from becoming public and/or legal. Recounting a horrifying incident that occurred on September 28, 2025, locals informed that a young girl, who visited a private corporate hospital in the municipality with stomach pain, died following a medical complication. This incident occurred near the Subhash Chandra Bose Crossroads. Ramudu and Shirisha, a couple from the Dalit colony in Govardhanagiri village (Veepanagandla mandal), brought their five-year-old daughter, Ramya, to the hospital after she suddenly complained of stomach pain. Without conducting any tests, the doctor allegedly administered two injections; upon noticing foam coming from the child’s mouth, he took an X-ray and administered two more injections. As her condition deteriorated, the doctor advised the parents to take her to Mahbubnagar and sent her there in a private ambulance. However, doctors at the Mahbubnagar hospital examined the child and declared her dead. Alleging that the girl died due to the doctor’s negligence, family members and relatives staged a protest at the hospital. The price of a Dalit girl’s life settled by the hospital was Rs 2 lakhs. When questioned, DMHO Sainath Reddy said, “The medical officer conducted ground-level inspections and submitted a report to the Deputy DMHO who in turn also inspected the hospital. However, the submission of the report was delayed because he fell ill (fever). As there are holidays from tomorrow through Monday, the report is expected to reach me on Tuesday. I will take action once the report is received.” Meanwhile, many such incidents are being revealed by locals, such as the one on July 7 involving Sabera Begum (35) of Etigadda Sagapuram village, who came for delivery of twins after 16 years of marriage but was instead sent to the grave. Doctors had allegedly applied sutures without removing the placenta, which the family says attributed to the complication of her uterus. Residents of the municipality and district are criticising the situation, questioning whether anything can be done when medical officials appear to place a monetary value on human lives. Two days after getting doxed, Telugu Dalit content creator’s account suspended by Instagram

A day after Telugu content creator Ajay Radha Kumar was doxed by a Hindutva digital creator, his account was suspended by Instagram on Wednesday, August 5 for not following Instagram’s “Terms of Use on intellectual property.” Ajay, a 23-year-old content creator who has amassed over 1 lakh followers, is well known in the Telugu media landscape for posting feminist, Ambedkarite content. Over the past few weeks, Ajay has been posting videos related to the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests and public dissatisfaction with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union government. He has also posted videos criticising the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government’s push for data centres and the privatisation of medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Since Saturday, August 1, a Hindutva digital creator identified as TD Rakesh Sharma has made a series of videos criticising Ajay. “I can only assume this is in response to a video I did regarding posters at the CJP protest where PM Narendra Modi’s face was morphed and affixed on women’s bodies,” Ajay, a Dalit residing in Hyderabad, told TNM. In his video, Ajay is criticising the posters for the underlying sexism of correlating the Prime Minister’s inefficiency with womanhood. In response to that video, Rakesh Sharma posted another stating that Ajay could lodge a complaint against him to the police if he wanted to. “But then you also have to explain how you justified PM Modi being presented as a woman,” Rakesh said. It is unclear how Rakesh arrived at this conclusion, as Ajay’s video does not justify the posters in question. “He doesn’t seem to understand what I was saying. I spoke in Telugu, but still it was lost on him and other right-wing supporters,” Ajay said. In a second video published on Sunday, August 2, Rakesh can be seen abusing Ajay for criticising PM Modi and Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. Things, however, took a turn on Monday, August 3, when Rakesh put out a reel on Instagram accusing him of duping women. “He (Ajay) targeted women students at law colleges and converted one such Hindu woman in Badhrachalam into an atheist,” Rakesh can be seen saying. Ajay told TNM that the woman in question was a friend of his who had her own political views. Rakesh also accused Ajay of making ‘anti-Hindu videos’ and made casteist remarks against him. But without stopping there, Rakesh put Ajay’s phone number on the video. “On Monday evening alone between 6 pm and 12:30 am, I got at least 100-120 calls,” Ajay told TNM. “I started to block them because I kept getting calls and messages incessantly,” he said. TNM also saw a few screenshots sent to Ajay which included messages from strangers abusing Ajay, his family and making outright casteist and communal remarks. Addressing the doxing, Ajay added that Rakesh had put out a lot of information about his identity. “A lot of information about me is factually incorrect. For instance, he said my mother is a Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member, which is untrue, and made misleading statements about my family,” Ajay added. “Radical Ajay” alleged that TD Rakesh Sharma had subjected him to a sustained campaign of online harassment for his political views on PM Modi and AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. Hyderabad: Dalit social media influencer and political commentator Dara Ajay Kumar, popularly known as “Radical Ajay,” has filed a police complaint at the Punjagutta Police Station alleging online harassment, doxxing and criminal intimidation by right-wing Hindutva content creator TD Rakesh Sharma. Ajay, an Ambedkarite, alleged that Sharma had subjected him to a sustained campaign of online harassment across multiple Instagram reels for his political views on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, which culminated in the public disclosure of his personal information, including his residential address and mobile phone number. According to the complaint, filed on August 1, Ajay approached the police after Sharma uploaded a series of reels targeting him. In his written complaint, Ajay stated that an Instagram user had shared his personal information online without his consent and was using the handle to threaten and intimidate him. He has asked the police to take legal action, remove the offending videos and suspend the account. In a statement to the media on Monday, August 3, Ajay said that over the previous three days, Sharma had uploaded multiple videos spreading false information about him. He alleged that Sharma disclosed details about his educational background, falsely claimed his mother was a former Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member, threatened to reveal his residential address and then did so, and later published his mobile phone number online — after which he began receiving numerous calls from unknown individuals. Ajay said Sharma also made false claims about his personal life, including allegations about his relationships, his religious conversion and a claim that his brother’s employment was owed to reservation. He described the videos as part of a sustained campaign of harassment, doxxing, intimidation and defamation that had placed his privacy and safety at serious risk. Doxxing refers to the practice of publishing a person’s private information, such as their address or phone number, online without their consent, often to expose them to harassment or harm. According to the complaint and a review of the Instagram reels by Siasat.com, Sharma uploaded multiple reels targeting Ajay. Across the reels, Sharma spoke in a raised voice and adopted an aggressive, confrontational tone, directing personal attacks at Ajay. On August 1, Sharma posted a reel in which he said he was not concerned about the police complaint Ajay had filed against him. In the same reel, he warned that he would publicly “expose” Ajay’s residential address. According to Ajay, Sharma then carried out that threat, publishing his residential address and other personal details in a later reel. His content included calls for a Hindu Rashtra and opposition to the word “secular” in the Constitution. A review of his reels showed that his criticism of Ajay stems from the latter’s political views. In his videos, Sharma objected to Ajay’s criticism of Prime Minister Modi and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Kalyan and took issue with the Dalit influencer’s expressed support for activist Umar Khalid. He casted these positions as evidence that Ajay is “anti-Hindu.” In one reel, Sharma said that criticising Modi is “definitely anti-Hindu.” The reels also carried remarks warning that Ajay had angered supporters of Modi and Kalyan, with Sharma claiming that people would find Ajay no matter where he stayed in Hyderabad. In the same videos, Sharma repeated that he is unconcerned about any legal action, including the complaint filed against him. Other targets of Sharma The reels reviewed by Siasat.com showed Sharma targeting other public figures beyond Ajay, including some which included Islamophobic and anti-Christian remarks. Sharma targeted independent journalist Thulasi Chandu, referring to her as “Catherine.” He made a series of claims about her professional work, sources of funding, religious identity and personal life. He accused her of falsely presenting herself as a journalist, alleged that she was associated with Christian organisations and an “anti-Hindu” network and claimed she was part of a group promoting certain individuals and narratives in exchange for money. He also made personal remarks about her attire, family and reputation, using derogatory and misogynistic language. Sharma further promised to produce what he described as evidence that Chandu is a Christian. As part of these claims, he questioned her attire and appearance, commenting on the absence of a mangalsutra and mettelu – traditional Telugu toe rings commonly worn by many married women in Telugu communities – and referred to a video from Chandu’s visit to Kerala in which she spoke about a church. Chandu had previously addressed similar allegations in a video, saying that false information was being circulated about her religious identity and the funding of her journalism. She has also said she has repeatedly been accused by right-wing social media users of being “anti-Hindu” and of being a Christian. In a separate reel, Sharma targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay’s latest release, Jana Nayagan, alleging that the film insulted Hindus. He claimed that the climax, which reportedly lasts 30 minutes, contained content that hurt Hindu sentiments. Sharma called on Telugu audiences to boycott the film and urged everyone to share his video and back his call. In another reel, Sharma targeted Tollywood actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas for visiting a dargah, accusing the actor of “being secular.” In several reels, Sharma targeted actor Prakash Raj for his political opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and PM Modi. Sharma also targeted Joseph Bachalakuri, alias YouTuber Prashna Ravan, a political commentator and critic of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister. Ravan was arrested multiple times in mid-2026 over his remarks against Kalyan and later booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Party leaders said the discussion has gained momentum, with many believing that Revanth is keen to give greater representation to younger legislators. The move is also being seen as an effort to strengthen the Congress’ appeal among young voters, not only in Telangana but across the country. According to senior party leaders, if the proposal goes ahead, one or two young MLAs could find a place in the Cabinet. They say the move would reflect Revanth’s political style while helping the party connect better with younger voters. Sources said Revanth is likely to take up the proposal with the Congress high command, arguing that projecting younger ministers could work in the party’s favour ahead of the next electoral cycle. The speculation has also led to some nervousness among sitting ministers, as any Cabinet expansion or reshuffle could change the existing political equations. According to party sources, the Cabinet expansion or reshuffle is expected in August. They said discussions on the Karnataka Cabinet expansion are almost complete at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) level, after which the focus is likely to shift to Telangana. Young aspirants Following the chief minister’s remarks that Gen Z leaders should become ministers, the names of some of the Assembly’s youngest MLAs, including Mamidala Yashaswini Reddy, Mynampally Rohith Rao and Chittem Parnika Reddy, have begun doing the rounds in Congress circles. Party sources said there is a fair chance that one or two young legislators could be accommodated in the Cabinet. At the same time, there is also talk that up to three senior ministers could be dropped and given organisational responsibilities, either in the state unit of the party or at the national level. Congress leaders expect Revanth to discuss the issue with Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who has consistently encouraged greater participation by young people in politics. They believe the induction of younger ministers could send a message beyond Telangana and help the party strike a chord with young voters across the country. Leaders familiar with the chief minister’s political thinking also believe he is likely to give more tickets to younger candidates in the next Assembly elections, particularly if the proposed delimitation exercise increases the number of Assembly constituencies. They say this would fit in with Revanth’s long-term political strategy in both Telangana and the Congress. Party leaders also point out that several first-time legislators are relatively young. They mention MPs Chamala Kiran Reddy, Kadiyam Kavya, K Raghuveer Reddy, Gaddam Vamshi Krishna and Anil Kumar Yadav, along with MLC Balmoor Venkat, as part of the younger leadership, even if they do not fall within the Gen Z age group. Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Tuesday handed over a cheque for ₹4.12 lakh as ex gratia to the bereaved family of slain Dalit woman Karre Sunitha at Chintalapet village in Jagtial district. Sources said that Sunitha was allegedly murdered by an assailant in Metpalli a week ago. The Minister consoled the bereaved family and handed over the cheque to the victim’s grandmother. Her said the second instalment of the compensation would be released as per government norms. He assured the bereaved family of justice and stringent action against those responsible for the gruesome murder. The Minister said the government would take full responsibility for the education of Sunitha’s two sons. HYDERABAD: In a blunt ultimatum to underperforming party workers, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed Congress leaders to stay away from Gandhi Bhavan and take to the field during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, warning that those who remained inactive would not be considered for nominated posts. In a no-holds-barred Zoom meeting on Sunday, Revanth told party leaders not to visit the state Congress headquarters until the August 3 deadline for submitting SIR Enumeration Forms. Expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of field-level participation, he said chairmanships and other nominated posts would not be given to leaders who remained inactive during the campaign. He also announced that the 100 best-performing BLAs would be given an opportunity to click a photograph with Rahul Gandhi. Revanth directed the in-charge ministers to supervise the SIR exercise and said a constituency-wise review would be held on July 30. He warned MPs appointed as SIR in-charges that strict action would be taken if they failed to discharge their responsibilities. With the deadline extended to August 3, he said the additional time should be used to intensify outreach. A separate review with the 10 in-charge ministers will be held on Monday, while MPs have been asked to conduct periodic reviews even during the ongoing session. Revanth said the Congress had organised 489 SIR meetings across the 119 Assembly segments but stressed that attention was needed in the weakest-performing ones. He told MLAs, constituency in-charges and corporation chairpersons to scrutinise reports submitted by BLAs instead of relying solely on BLO reports. Hyderabad: With the Centre expected to revive key political reforms, including delimitation and women’s reservation, chief minister A Revanth Reddy is set to hold crucial discussions with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi during the upcoming Parliament session. The meeting is expected to focus on Telangana’s political roadmap, particularly the likely increase in assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies following delimitation. The monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled from July 20 to Aug 13, and Revanth is expected to meet the Congress leadership during this period. According to sources, the chief minister will discuss the likely expansion of constituencies across the country, with a special focus on Telangana. The state is expected to see a significant increase in representation, with assembly seats projected to rise from 119 to 182 and Lok Sabha constituencies from 17 to 26. The discussions are also likely to focus on the Congress party’s electoral strategy in Telangana in the event of delimitation being taken up by the Centre. Revanth has already sought to position Telangana at the centre of the party’s national plans. Addressing a public meeting in Khammam district on Friday, he declared that he would deliver 20 Lok Sabha seats from Telangana to the Congress and help Rahul Gandhi emerge as Prime Minister. The chief minister had also played a key role in mobilising support from several opposition parties against the BJP govt’s attempt to link the implementation of 33% women’s reservation with delimitation, a move that triggered widespread political debate. Apart from political issues, Revanth is expected to brief the Congress leadership on the performance of the Telangana govt over the past 30 months. “He is expected to share with them his plans for the remaining tenure of the Congress govt in Telangana on welfare, development, economic growth, investment fronts and also on the status of the Congress’s electoral promises,” said a source close to him. During his Delhi visit, the chief minister is also expected to meet Union ministers, subject to appointments. He is likely to take up issues related to Telangana’s infrastructure and urban transport requirements, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion plans. Meetings with Union ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Ashwini Vaishnaw are expected to focus on the proposed takeover of the metro rail project and its second phase expansion. While aspirants for cabinet berths are hopeful that the Congress high command may push for filling the two vacancies in the state cabinet, sources in the chief minister’s office indicated that Revanth is not inclined to undertake a cabinet expansion or reshuffle at this stage. Participating in the Dalit Christian Reservations Consultation meeting held in Hyderabad, along with Minorities Welfare Minister Md. Azharuddin, he said conversion changes a person’s religion but does not erase caste-based discrimination, poverty or social exclusion. The Minister lamented that Dalit Christians continue to face discrimination in villages, educational institutions, workplaces and even marriage alliances. Questioning the denial of constitutional safeguards on religious grounds, he asked, “If discrimination remains unchanged, why should rights change?” He argued that the issue should be viewed through the lens of equality and justice guaranteed by the Constitution. Only Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs can claim Scheduled Caste status: Supreme Court Mr. Kumar assured that the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, remains committed to safeguarding the rights of marginalized communities, minorities and Dalit Christians. Mr. Azharuddin, calling for unity, said the struggle should not remain confined to meetings and resolutions, but must develop into a sustained democratic people’s movement.
