Abuse of Ramcharitmanas, abusive words for Mother Sita… MLA Manoj Pandey attacks the party after being expelled from SP

The Samajwadi Party expelled Abhay Singh, Rakesh Pratap Singh and Manoj Pandey for anti-party activities. Manoj Pandey questioned the SP on issues like insult to Ramcharitmanas and mentioned the weakening support base of the party. Sandeep Tiwari, Lucknow: A major political development was seen in the politics of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The Samajwadi Party expelled three MLAs, MLA Abhay Singh from Gosaiganj, Rakesh Pratap Singh from Gauriganj and MLA Manoj Pandey from Unchahar, from the party, accusing them of anti-party activities. This decision created a stir in the politics of the state. After the expulsion, MLA Manoj Pandey has raised sharp questions on the Samajwadi Party while strongly putting forward his side in a conversation with a channel. He said that he has had a long political life of 30 years in the party and he always worked with the basic principles of SP. Manoj Pandey said that when I left the party, I was the chief whip. This question should be asked to those who created such circumstances. He clarified that he is not a rebel in any way. Describing his decision as a constitutional right, he said that the Supreme Court has made it clear that any MLA in the Rajya Sabha can vote wherever he wants. This is our democratic right. SP’s mass base is weakening – Manoj Pandey Reacting to his expulsion, he said in an emotional tone that how can he remain in a party where Ramcharitmanas is abused, the book is torn, Ganga is called a drain and Sita Mata is abused. He said that he opposed this ideology, but when the party turned a blind eye, he refused to consider politics as a means of convenience. Manoj Pandey said that he also saw in the internal politics of SP that the mass base of the party is weakening. Even after fielding candidates on 403 seats, only 46 MLAs were able to win. This means that the blessings of the people and God are now somewhere else. Took BJP membership on 18 May 2024 He said that he has come into politics not for any post or benefit, but with the aim of providing justice to the poor, weak, Dalit, backward and upper castes. He also told that he had duly taken membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party on 18 May 2024 and that too in the presence of lakhs of people. We took membership of the party in front of Amit Shah ji. Now that we have been expelled from SP, this decision seems ridiculous because we have already joined BJP. Commenting on words like grace period, he said that he only needs the blessings of the people of Unchahar, Param Pita Parmeshwar and his well-wishers. He does not want the grace of anyone else. Clarified that he never won on the symbol of Samajwadi Party. I have become an MLA on the strength of the people, not because of the symbol of any party. Finally Manoj Pandey said that he will take a decision on the future political direction after consultation with the public and allies. MP: Dalit farmer’s land occupied by miscreants in Rajgarh, victims have been pleading with the administration for three years!

Victims allege – The miscreants got their and their family’s caste certificates canceled on the basis of false documents, due to which they have been deprived of many government benefits like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ladli Behna Yojana and Foodgrain Scheme. Bhopal. A serious case of forceful occupation of the land of a Scheduled Caste farmer, illegal mining, caste insult and death threat has come to light in village Papdel of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. Some influential people of the village not only occupied the land owned by the victim farmer Kalyan father Chandan Vanskar, but also beat him up when he protested and humiliated him by using casteist abuses. Regarding this matter, State President of Bamboo Shilpkar Yuva Shakti Sangathan Mukesh Bansal has submitted a detailed memorandum to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Director General of Police (DGP) demanding strict action against the culprits. What is the matter? According to the information, the land of the victim Kalyan, survey number 1/3/3, area 2.000 hectares is registered in his name, which has been the means of livelihood for his family for years. On 7 June 2025, some people of the village, Radheshyam Lodha (Upper Sarpanch), Pawan Lodha, Basantibai, Gopal, Bhanwarlal and Mohan alias Pappu, got together and started illegal digging on this land by calling JCB machine. It is alleged that these people uprooted the trees and plants in the field and illegally mined the gravel sand/soil and took it away by tractors. When Kalyan and his family protested against this, they were badly beaten up and caste-related abusive words were used. The victim lodged a written complaint in Bhojpur police station, but no concrete action has been taken so far. Kalyan says that the accused Deputy Sarpanch Radheshyam Lodha is misusing his position and political influence to put pressure on the administration, due to which he is not getting justice. Caste certificates of victims cancelled! After the incident, another big crisis arose in front of the victim. He alleged that the miscreants got his and his family’s caste certificates cancelled on the basis of false documents, due to which they have been deprived of many government benefits like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ladli Behna Yojana and Foodgrain Scheme. They have been making rounds of Tehsil Office, SDM, Collector and Jan Sunwai for the last three years, but no solution has been found so far. Kalyan also told that the miscreants are now preventing him from going to his own land at gunpoint. His family is being harassed mentally, physically and socially. Regarding this entire matter, State President of Bamboo Shilpkar Yuva Shakti Sangathan, Mukesh Bansal has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Director General of Police and put forth demands. He demanded that the encroachment from the land owned by the victim be removed immediately, strict action should be taken against the accused by registering a criminal case under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, IPC sections 323, 506, 447, 379 and other provisions. The cancelled caste certificate should be reissued after impartial investigation. Also, security has been demanded for the victim and his family. Speaking to The Mooknayak, Mukesh Bansal said, “This is not just a case of land grabbing, but an organized effort to deprive a poor Scheduled Caste farmer of his identity, his rights and his self-respect. Evicting people like Kalyan Vanskar, whose livelihood and existence is completely dependent on their land, from their own land is a serious social injustice. And when he speaks up, he is silenced by using caste-specific abusive language, beating him and threatening him. All this is happening in front of the eyes of the police, and the lack of action till now shows the silence and bias of the system.” He further said, “I have handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister and DGP and have clearly said that if there is no immediate intervention in this matter, then this injustice will become an example for more poor Dalit families that no matter what you have, if you are a Dalit, no one will listen to you. We have also demanded that the victim’s caste certificate be restored immediately, so that he can get the benefits of the schemes. The government has to understand that justice should not be seen only on paper, but in ground reality.” Ankit Pachauri Courtesy : Hindi News

Police arrest three for murder of Dalit youth in Jagtial

Despite a rowdy sheet being opened against him in 2022, Mallesh reportedly continued to harass the woman. Jagtial: Velgatoor police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Dalit youth Salluri Mallesh (26), who was stabbed to death on July 17. The accused — Nainala Raji Reddy, his brother Nainala Malla Reddy, and Harish — were produced before the media by Jagtial DSP Raghuchander during a press conference at the Velgatoor police station on Saturday. Mallesh, a resident of Kishanraopet, had allegedly been harassing Raji Reddy’s daughter under the pretext of love. Police had earlier registered cases against both sides. Despite a rowdy sheet being opened against him in 2022, Mallesh reportedly continued to harass the woman. On July 17, Mallesh went to the woman’s house and allegedly tried to force her to go with him. When she refused, he pelted stones at the house. After being informed by his daughter, Raji Reddy alerted his brother Malla Reddy and Harish, and the trio initially decided to lodge a police complaint. While Raji Reddy went home to fetch documents related to an earlier case, Malla Reddy and Harish waited at Velgatoor bypass road. According to the police, Mallesh happened to pass through the area. They intercepted him and began thrashing him. Soon after, Raji Reddy reached the spot. As passersby began to question their actions, the trio bundled Mallesh into an autorickshaw, took him behind an old wine shop, and attacked him with knives. Mallesh died on the spot due to excessive bleeding from multiple injuries. The accused fled after confirming his death. Indian Court Orders State To Ensure Hindu Dalits’ Temple Entry

The High Court of southern Tamil Nadu has ordered the state government to ensure that socially poor Dalit people can enter Hindu temples, following a complaint against a temple violating Dalits’ right to worship. The Madras High Court on July 17 also ordered the accused temple administration to permit Dalit Hindus–who are outside the four-tier Hindu caste system and formerly considered untouchable–to offer prayers in the temple. The state government must ensure that “no law-and-order problem is created” in allowing the Dalit people to enter the temple, the court said, adding that denying them entry violates a state law–the Tamil Nadu Temple Entry Authorization Act, 1947. The law makes it clear that “every Hindu, irrespective of the caste or sect to which he belongs, shall be entitled to enter any Hindu temple and offer worship therein… irrespective of the caste or community of the devotees,” said the state’s top court. The court order was issued in response to a complaint filed by Venkatesan, who goes by one name, seeking court direction to allow his community members to enter the Arulmigu Puthukudi Ayyanar Temple in Ariyalur district and participate in ritual worship, including the temple’s car festival. Venkatesan’s Hindu Dalit community, living near the temple, is traditionally barred from entering the temple and taking part in its festival, scheduled this year from July 16 to 31. The court asked the head of the district police to ensure that “all classes of Hindus are permitted to enter the temple and participate in the festival.” Church people in the state welcomed the order as progressive and aimed at eliminating caste discrimination, still prevalent in Indian society. “The judgment is commendable not only for its legal soundness but also for its moral clarity. It calls attention to the spirit of a secular and inclusive India,” said Jesuit Father A. Santhanam, practicing law in the state, including in High Court. “The decision is a judicial reminder that the rule of law must be an active agent in dismantling centuries-old oppressive practices,” the priest told UCA News on July 18. The court has also made it clear, “access to spiritual spaces must be governed by law and justice, not prejudice or tradition”, he added. He said socio-political leaders, who often present themselves as champions of Hindu interests, stay silent or evasive when it comes to caste-based discrimination to avoid offending their own caste members. Mary John, president of the Dalit Christian Liberation Movement, termed the verdict a “very important and necessary order to wipe out the caste discrimination from religious worship places”. He told UCA News on July 17 that such discrimination can be eliminated “only when the state strictly implements the law in letter and spirit. Ganapragasam Mathew, leader of a Dalit Christian Coalition in Tamil Nadu, said that various forms of discrimination against Dalit people persist within Christian churches. They include separate seating arrangements for Dalits in churches, segregating them in cemeteries, and excluding them from church festivals. ‘Dalits refused booking of wedding halls in Tiruppur’s Sivanmalai foothills’

Hall owners fear people from other castes will not book their halls if they allow people from scheduled castes. TIRUPPUR: Wedding hall owners at Sivanmalai in Kangeyam of Tiruppur district are suspected of caste discrimination against Scheduled Castes. Officials from the district administration said an investigation into the matter is underway. It has been alleged Dalit people are finding it difficult to book wedding halls located in the foothills of Sivanmalai to hold auspicious events, including weddings. P Kalimuthu, district secretary of the Aathi Thamizhar Munnetra Kazhagam, said, “People from not only Tiruppur district but also from nearby districts come to the Murugan Temple at Sivanmalai. There is a belief among the public that if auspicious events, including marriages, are held at Sivanmalai, they will get the grace of Lord Murugan. But SC people are refused booking of private halls in the foothills of Sivanmalai.” “Out of the 20 wedding halls two belong to the trusts of two specific castes. All other halls are private halls. The norms for halls state that all castes should be allowed. But these halls do not allow people from Scheduled Castes to hold auspicious events. The situation is similar in Kangeyam city. Hall owners fear people from other castes will not book their halls if they allow people from scheduled castes,,” he added. “Scheduled Caste people are facing great difficulty in booking halls for auspicious days. Sometimes, they hold weddings in their village temples and host receptions and other events by setting up tents in their homes. Only a few socially minded people provide halls to SC people. The state government should conduct an investigation and take appropriate action in this regard,” Kalimuthu further said. A Dalit villager said: “There is a private hall on the Kangeyam-Tiruppur road, one kilometre from the foothills of Sivanmalai. SC people are allowed there because its contractor is also a Dalit.” However, the hall owners denied the allegations. PS Chellamuthu, a wedding hall owner, said, “The rent in the halls ranges from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. Some halls in Kangeyam are charging even Rs 4.5 lakh. They cannot afford to pay these charges and ask for a lower amount. But we can’t reduce the charge. Some people are falsely complaining that we are refusing to book halls for SC people. We do not discriminate on the basis of caste when booking halls. We provide the hall to whoever pays our charges.” KS Mani, another hall owner, said, “My hall is a small one. I am providing it to all community people. I will provide the hall to whoever pays the charge.” Officials from the district administration said, “We also received a complaint regarding this. An investigation into the matter is underway. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.” P Srinivasan Courtesy : TNIE Note: This news is originally published on https:/thenewindianexpress.com/  and is for use by the non-military/non-commercial community, especially those in the human rights sector.

‘Neha’ was Abdul all along: Bangladeshi arrested after 28 years in India

Widely known as ‘Neha Kinnar’ in the locality where he was staying, Abdul Kalam entered India at the age of 10 and went on to spend nearly 20 years in Mumbai before moving to Bhopal. He maintained the identity of a transgender woman for at least eight years in Bhopal to avoid detection by local authorities.Amritanshi Joshi After at least eight years of living under the guise of a transgender woman—and nearly three decades in total of residing in India undetected—Bhopal Police have arrested a Bangladeshi man, Abdul Kalam, who was living under the alias Neha. During an ongoing crackdown on illegal migrants, Bhopal police officials discovered that Abdul had carefully constructed a false identity as an Indian citizen, having forged documents including an Aadhaar card, voter ID, and even a passport. Police further found that Abdul had made multiple visits to Bangladesh during his nearly thirty-year stay using the forged passport. Abdul was arrested in the intervening night between Monday and Tuesday, following a coordinated, intelligence-led operation. Widely known as “Neha Kinnar” in the locality where he was staying, Abdul entered India at the age of 10 and went on to spend nearly 20 years in Mumbai before moving to Bhopal, sources close to the investigation told India Today TV. They further revealed that he maintained the identity of a transgender woman for at least eight years in Bhopal to avoid detection by local authorities. The accused had lived in various houses within Bhopal’s Budhwara locality. Residents recognised him solely by this identity. Authorities have confirmed that Abdul also travelled to and from Bangladesh using his counterfeit Indian passport, raising significant concerns about the integrity of national documentation systems and border security. Police have seized multiple falsified documents from his possession, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the extent of the document fraud and whether he was assisted by a broader network. The Intelligence Bureau and the Anti-Terrorism Squad have joined the investigation, given the serious national security implications of the case. Cybercrime specialists are analysing Abdul’s seized mobile phone, mining call logs, messaging history, and data connections to uncover potential co-conspirators or a deeper syndicate facilitating such identity fraud. “We received credible information through a confidential informant, which led to his identification and subsequent arrest. He has been residing in Bhopal for nearly a decade, but prior to that, he lived in Maharashtra. During this time, he had also returned to Bangladesh, which he managed to do using forged Indian credentials. The investigation is ongoing, and we are closely coordinating with central agencies,” said senior police official Shalini Dixit. She added that the matter is extremely serious, which is why the details of the operation have been kept completely confidential. Interrogation of the individual posing as a transgender woman is currently underway. Meanwhile, police are now preparing to conduct a gender verification test to determine whether Neha is biologically transgender or had been disguising himself as one to conceal his identity. Abdul has been placed under 30-day detention while the authorities initiate formal deportation procedures. Police are also probing whether his transgender identity was genuine or adopted purely as a means of deception. Investigators are examining whether any members of the local transgender community knowingly or unknowingly assisted him. A separate team from the Crime Branch is questioning his known associates. Officials have restricted access to Abdul, allowing only the station in-charge and two designated female officers to interact with him. The Centre has also been notified of the arrest, and multiple intelligence wings are actively involved in reviewing the data and evaluating the potential breach. He is currently in police custody at the Talaiya Police Station, where he is being interrogated under high security.
