Case registered against Naib Tehsildar under SC/ST Act
The local police have booked Shiv Raj, a Naib Tehsildar posted in the Land Acquisition Department, Urban Estate, Sector 8, under Section 3 (1) (s) SC/ST Act 1989, Amendment Act 2015, for harassing and humiliating the complainant by using foul language as he belonged to the lower caste.
The case was registered at the Sector 5 police station after investigation by Assistant Commissioner of Police Nupur Bishnoi.
In his complaint to the police, Mohinder Pal, a resident of Manakpur Devi Lal in Pinjore block of the district, said the suspect, Shiv Raj, who belonged to Gujjar caste, had ill will against him.
He said the suspect, used to deal with the matters pending before the High Court, sought no legal advice from him before filing reply in the court despite him being legal adviser of the department.
The suspect always ignored the complainant by saying ‘Aab tuj se salah luna’ (Now, I have to take suggestions from you).
Pal said on May 31, 2018, Shiv Raj came to his office and started abusing and hurling caste-related remarks ‘Iss dedh ko iss office mai rahne nahi dege. Ye hum par jada chaudhar chalata hai. Iss nich ki kya okat. Issko mai abhi office se niklwata hu’ (I won’t let this stubborn stay in this office. He always tries to subdue us. What stand does this low caste has? I will get him thrown out of office immediately).
Raj uttered these words in the presence of other office employees, including Anil Patwari and Karambir Patwari. At that time too Pal had humbly requested the suspect not to use such foul language against him. The officials present at that time intervened and the suspect, thereafter, immediately left while threatening Pal to get him thrown out of the office.
