BJP again got the support of Dalit voters in UP by-election, BSP spoiled SP’s game on three seats
UP News: NDA has won 7 out of 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh by-election. The credit for the victory is being given to Dalit voters. Congress not contesting the by-election also became the reason for SP’s defeat.
UP By Election Result 2024: NDA won seven out of nine seats in the by-election in Uttar Pradesh. Encouraged by the victory, BJP is going among the workers to cheer them. Let us tell you that the results of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections were reversed in the by-elections held only a few months later. Dalit voters have played an important role in BJP’s victory on 7 seats, which was somewhere not on BJP’s side in the Lok Sabha. Congress not contesting in this by-election also became the reason for the defeat of Samajwadi Party somewhere. Because due to Congress in the Lok Sabha, Dalits had voted for the leaders of the India Alliance.
The caste factor was clearly seen in the seats dominated by Scheduled Castes. The Dalit community which was on the side of opposition in Lok Sabha elections, was on the side of BJP in by-elections. BSP did not get a single seat but Dalits voted so much in three seats where they had majority that it spoiled the game of Samajwadi Party. Not only this, some votes also went to Azad Samaj Party.
BSP spoiled SP’s game
After the by-election results, apart from backwards, Dalit voters are also mainly present in the state. If we talk about Ambedkar Nagar’s Katehari assembly seat, there are about four lakh voters here, in which Dalits are the highest, Brahmins are in second place and Muslim and Yadav voters are in third place. Talking about by-elections, SP got Muslim-Yadav votes but due to not getting Dalit votes, this seat also did not go to the opposition. Due to which SP got only 56 thousand votes on this seat. Here Dalits made BJP win and gave 41,647 votes to BSP. Same is the situation in Meerapur and Phoolpur
If we talk about the total number of voters in Meerapur, there are 1.30 lakh Muslim voters here. In the by-election, Azad Samaj Party got 22,661 votes here, if the Dalit community had supported this seat, then SP would have won this seat. The same was seen in the Phulpur assembly seat. Where the highest number of Dalit voters is 75 thousand, then in second place are 70 thousand Kurmis. If we talk about the Muslim-Yadav alliance here, then the figure is 1 lakh 10 thousand. Here also the Dalits supported the BJP and SP lost.
