The incident is related to Madhubani and Darbhanga districts. Ram Prakash Paswan, a Dalit youth resident of Rajora village under Keoti police station of Darbhanga, was tortured by accusing him of theft. The video of him being beaten up with sticks and sticks is now becoming increasingly viral in social media. In the viral video, some people tie Ram Prakash Paswan’s hands and feet with a rope and beat him with a stick, after which if the mind is not satisfied, then bringing them out of the house on the road and kicking and punching them.
There is also an allegation that when Ram Prakash asked for water to drink in the halfway hall, people made him drink urine. When the video of the beating went viral, the Darbhanga police started its investigation. After reaching the hospital, the police of Benta police station of Darbhanga has investigated the whole matter and recorded the statement of the victim. Confirming this, Darbhanga SDPO Krishnanandan Kumar said that Darbhanga police has taken the statement of the victim, Ram Prakash Paswan, in the hospital. Since the spot is in Madhubani district, Darbhanga police will extend full cooperation to Madhubani police in the investigation.
The victim’s son told the whole story
The victim’s son Abhishek Paswan told that the theft allegations leveled against his father are absolutely false. His father was coming to Darbhanga from his aunt’s house in Madhubani on the night of August 16, when the people of Ijra village first asked the father’s name and then brutally beat him up. When his father asked for water to drink, the beating people made him drink urine. Describing his father’s condition as worrying, Abhishek said that at present he is alive with the help of ventilator.
Many bones are broken
Apart from the spinal cord of Paswan, due to the beating, the shoulder and waist ribs have also been broken. Doctors have told him that his father’s kidney has also suffered due to the beating. The victim’s son told that the father is a social man as well as a BJP worker. He was also a Panchayat Samiti member, so he does not know why he was beaten up. He told that his father was thrashed overnight after making false allegations of theft. The victim’s son said that the people who beat up were demanding 20 lakh rupees in return for releasing the father. To save the life of the father, immediately gave 50000 thousand rupees.
Bajrang Dal warns of agitation
Now Bajrang Dal has also jumped in the whole matter. Rajeev Kumar Madhukar, convener of Darbhanga District Bajrang Dal, has accused the whole matter of directly lynching the Hindus, questioning the functioning of Madhubani Police. He told that even if he committed theft, how did they get the right to beat up the accused and take the law into their own hands.
