Barmer Dalit youth murder: deadlock continues, dead body not picked up even on fourth day, thousands again on the streets
Barmer Dalit Youth Murder Case: The deadlock in the murder of a Dalit youth four days ago in Girab police station area of Barmer district of Rajasthan has not yet been broken. Due to this, the dead body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary of the district hospital for four days. Till now no consensus has been reached between the agitated family members and the police administration regarding the two demands.

Barmer. The deadlock that arose after the murder of Dalit youth Kojaram Meghwal in Barmer, Rajasthan, has not ended yet. The angry relatives of the deceased youth and the people and organizations of the Dalit community have not picked up the dead body even on the fourth day on Saturday. Although the post-mortem of the dead body has been done. But so far no consensus has been reached on all the demands. That’s why the angry people have refused to take the dead body. Thousands of people again took to the streets regarding this matter on Saturday and took out a silent procession from the picket site being given in front of the mortuary of the district hospital.
In view of the anger of the crowd, a heavy police force was deployed at the District Collectorate. This outrage rally started from the protest site and reached the collectorate. There he handed over the memorandum to the District Collector. Agreement has been reached on all other demands in this matter. But the screw is stuck on two demands. In these, agreement has not been reached on the demand for one compensation and the other job. Kojaram’s body is kept in the mortuary of the district hospital. Dalit leader Udaram Meghwal is leading this movement. He says that at present there is no consensus on two demands. The movement will continue till the demands are not met.
Dalit youth was killed four days ago in Girab police station area
It is noteworthy that a Dalit youth Kojaram Meghwal was beaten to death four days back in Asadi village of Girab police station area of Barmer. It is being told that when Kojaram went to graze goats, some bullies attacked him collectively. Due to this, Kojaram died on the spot. After that the Dalit community got agitated and refused to take the dead body for several demands including the arrest of the accused.
The post-mortem of the dead body was done on Friday.
Since then, several rounds of talks have taken place between the agitated Dalit community and the police and administration. But so far no consensus has been reached on all the demands. After some demands were agreed upon, the post-mortem of the dead body was done on Friday. But due to non-agreement on the two demands, the angry relatives and people of the Dalit community have refused to take the dead body.
