Aligarh: Amid tight security ‘havan’ for murdered girl passes off peacefully
AGRA: Amid tight security, the “havan”, organized by the family of the the two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who was brutally killed in Aligarh’s Tappal area last week, passed off peacefully on Wednesday.
While hundreds of people from the area attended the ceremony, local police personnel, including Tappal’s station house officer and circle officer, were also seen sitting and participating in the havan with the crowds.
About two dozen VVIPs including the local MP, Satish Gautam, the National women commission member from UP, Meena Devi and MLA, Khair Anoop Balmiki also participated in the havan.
Superintendent of police (rural) Manilal Patidar said that police personnel participated in the havan to pay their tributes to the child. He said police force will remain deployed in the area for some more time.

Mehndi Hassan and his associate Aslam in connection with the brutal killing of the girl child over a financial dispute with the victim’s grand father. The girl’s mutilated body was spotted by a cleaner when stray dogs dragged it from a garbage dump on June 2, three days after her abduction.
As investigation into the case progress, the Tappal circle officer, Pankaj Srivastava, was transferred. Earlier, five policemen were also suspended by the SSP for inaction in the case.
The incident had triggered massive outrage. Political leaders and celebrities had also tweeted their anger and disgust over the crime.
