Agra: Minor girl from Dalit community kidnapped, molested; accused on run

The minor girl, who was playing outside her house in Agra district, was kidnapped and molested by Nishad. Nishad was booked under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and SC/ST acts.

Agra: A 28-year-old man has been booked for allegedly kidnapping and molesting an 11-year-old girl from the Dalit community in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district. While the accused, identified as Pradeep Nishad, is currently on the run, the victim is battling for her life at a hospital.
Minor molested while she was playing outside her house
The minor girl, who was playing outside her house under Etmaduddaula police limits in Agra district on Wednesday, was kidnapped and brutally molested by Nishad. The accused, who was visiting his relative, fled the spot immediately after committing the heinous crime.
Minor in critical condition
After the shocking incident, the minor reached home in a semi-naked state and her clothes were soaked in blood. The parents of the minor took her to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to reports, the minor is in critical condition.
Minor’s mother files police complaint
After the victim was admitted to hospital, her mother rushed to a nearby police station and filed a formal complaint. Nishad was booked under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and SC/ST acts.
According to a senior police officer, Nishad was living at his relative’s place in the area. “He fled after committing the crime. Efforts were underway to nab him. Although the victim’s health condition is critical, she is out of danger,” the officer said.
“The accused lured the minor and took her to a newly-constructed house near his place and molested her and fled. After reaching home, the victim narrated her ordeal to her parents after which she was taken to the hospital. The minor’s father is a construction worker,” he said, adding the investigation is underway.
