Agra: A case of assault and misbehavior with a Dalit student has come to light from Agra College, UP. The chief proctor of the college is alleged to have thrown a Dalit student out of line and rained slaps. The Chief Proctor took him outside the college while beating him and drove him out of the college by using wrong words. When the aggrieved student complained about this to the principal of the college, there was no hearing, then the student filed a complaint with the police and demanded action.
I am a student of B.Sc third year in Agra college. The student said that on Wednesday, November 9, he had come to the college to collect his ID card. There was a long line in the college for the college identity card. He was standing in line with his friends.
Meanwhile, the Chief Proctor of Agra College, Dr. Amit Agarwal came and interrogated him and took him out of the line. He started asking tough questions. Rajat started having an argument with him on this. The student alleges that the Chief Proctor beat him up with slaps among all the students. After that he caught him and took him out. While leaving, he was beaten up and insulted by uttering hateful words to him. The victim student has lodged a complaint with the police station. Police is investigating the matter. College principal Anurag Shukla says that the student was not in uniform. The allegations are being investigated.
‘Keep your shadow away from me…’
The student told that he had come in college uniform. The Chief Proctor had asked him for the college fee receipt. Which he showed and also had the document file in his hand. It is alleged that Chief Proctor Amit Aggarwal hit her on the fact that he spoke with her eyes in her eyes. The student said that the Chief Proctor scolded him to such an extent that he got scared and while turning away from him, said that he kept his shadow away from me.
Demand for removal of Chief Proctor
When NSUI came to know about this incident, a demonstration was held in the Agra College campus. State Secretary of NSUI Nitin Pratap Singh says that the Chief Proctor indulges in hooliganism in the college. He is an office bearer of ABVP. Students who do not join ABVP are misbehaved with them.
UP Congress Committee State Secretary Amit Singh, who was present during the demonstration, says that the student was beaten up by speaking casteist words. Despite this, the principal of the college made a false statement that he was not in uniform.
Amit Singh says that along with the students of his organization, students of other organization are beaten up. So that students join ABVP. The protesters have demanded an FIR on the Chief Proctor and his removal from the Proctor. Here the college administration has assured to conduct an inquiry by the committee in three days.
