400 Dalit women of Gujarat reached with a big pot, handed over the assistance amount to the families of Surana Indra Meghwal

Jodhpur, 28 September. In Surana village of Jalore district of Rajasthan, the case of a Dalit student being beaten up by a teacher for drinking water from a pot is gaining momentum. More than 400 Dalit women from Gujarat reached Surana village of Jalore as part of the yatra with a big pot and met the relatives of the deceased and handed over the assistance. In this way he tried to give a message against untouchability and opposed to beating.
For Dalit awareness in Gujarat, under the banner of several organizations including Dalit Nari Seva Kendra, by collecting one rupee each from every Dalit household of 1233 hundred villages in 8 states, collected three and a half lakh rupees. Keeping this amount in a huge matka in a vehicle, this team left in the form of a rally. The collected amount was kept in the pot towards the Dalit community, which has been handed over to the relatives of the deceased Dalit student Indra Meghwal.
In the case of a Dalit student drinking water from a pot in Surana village of Jalore, many Dalit organizations reached Surana village and expressed their condolences. In this episode, a group of more than 400 Dalit women from Gujarat reached Surana village. Although initially this team was prevented from entering Raniwada on the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan, but later on getting consent, the women belonging to this team were allowed to enter along with the matki. Arrangements were made and police force was also deployed in Surana village. On getting information about this whole matter, the administrative staff was also posted in Surana village.
