The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi on September 17, urging the release of a comprehensive relief package for Punjab. Rahul Gandhi posted on X on Monday that the floods have caused losses of approximately ₹20,000 crore. In such a situation, the initial relief package of ₹1,600 crore announced by the Prime Minister is an injustice to the people of Punjab.

He said that millions of homes were destroyed. More than 400,000 acres of crops were ruined. A large number of animals were also swept away. They just need support and strength. He said that he once again urges Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately release a comprehensive relief package.
