Dalit teen forced to marry 50-year-old man in Firozabad, FIR lodged

FIROZABAD: A 16-year-old dalit girl was forcefully married to a 50-year-old man in Firozabad. Incident took place in Siyarmau village of Naseerpur police jurisdiction on Saturday, but the girl was recovered on Sunday and FIR was lodged on Monday.The matter came to light, after girl’s father informed Shikohabad police. The girl hailed from Shahjalpur village of Shikohabad police jurisdiction , As Reported By TOI.
According to the Newspaper,After her mother’s death five-years-ago, the girl was staying with her uncle and aunt while his father was away doing daily wage labour work.On Saturday, the girl was taken to Madhavganj based guest house by her uncle and aunt on the pretext of attending a marriage function, but after reaching the guest house, the girl was stunned to know, that her relatives had fixed a marriage with 50-year-old man. “She protested against the marriage, but was forced to tie knot with the elder man. The girl alleged, that in her father’s absence her relatives sold her to man for Rs 2 lakh,” said a police official source.Station officer of Shikohabad, Anil Kumar said, “When father came to know about her daughter’s marriage he rushed to rescue her but was confined by his brother and his family.
